How Centria Autism Supports Families

By: Centria Autism

At Centria Autism, we believe that effective ABA therapy extends beyond the session or center. Families play a vital role in their child’s progress, and we’re here to support, guide, and empower parents and guardians every step of the way. That’s why family support is at the heart of everything we do.

Parent Engagement Sessions: Empowering You at Home

One of the key ways we support families is through our Parent Engagement Sessions. Our Parent Engagement Sessions are structured to empower parents and caregivers with the confidence to reinforce therapy skills at home, ensuring continuity in their child’s care.

In these sessions, Supervising Clinicians collaborate with families to explain therapy strategies and how to apply them in daily life—at home, in the community, or at school. We provide practical guidance on how to encourage communication, support positive behaviors, and build independence using evidence-based approaches tailored to your child’s needs.

These sessions are not about formal instruction. They are about partnership. Our goal is to equip you with the tools, insights, and confidence to help your child thrive in every environment.

Daily Activity Tracker: A Window into Your Child’s Therapy Day

Introducing the Daily Activity Tracker, a daily update that keeps families informed about their child’s therapy progress, enhancing transparency and engagement.

This report shares key insights including:

  • Today’s Mood: You’ll receive a summary of your child’s overall mood, reflected through their “HRE Score” (Happy, Relaxed, and Engaged).
    • A high HRE score suggests your child had a great day, tackled challenges successfully, and stayed engaged.
    • A lower HRE score may indicate your child had a more difficult day. This isn’t necessarily a concern. It helps our team identify patterns and adjust support as needed. Some days are simply harder than others, and that’s okay. Our goal is continued growth, not perfection.
  • Daily Details: You’ll also learn about meals, toileting habits, and any materials that may need to be replenished, such as diapers or wipes.

This daily report helps bridge the gap between therapy and home life. It offers you a simple, clear way to stay in the loop and reinforce what your child is working on. It’s just one more way we’re committed to keeping families involved and informed.

Questions to Ask When Choosing an ABA Provider

When you’re exploring ABA therapy options, it can help to ask each provider the same questions so you can compare how they support your child and your family. Here are some questions you might consider:

How do you involve parents and caregivers in therapy?
Do you offer regular parent engagement or training sessions so we can learn how to support our child at home?

How will you keep me updated on my child’s progress?
Will I receive daily or weekly updates, written reports, or check‑ins so I know what my child is working on?

Who designs and oversees my child’s treatment plan?
Is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) responsible for assessments, goal‑setting, and ongoing supervision?

How do you tailor ABA therapy to each child?
How do you learn about my child’s strengths, interests, and challenges, and how often do you adjust the plan?

What training do your behavior technicians receive?
How are they trained, supervised, and supported to work with children with autism?

How do you support my child across home, school, and community settings?
Will you help us carry skills over into everyday routines and collaborate with other providers when needed?

Bringing this list to your first calls or visits can make it easier to compare providers and choose the one that feels right for your family.
