Becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a significant achievement, marking your expertise in the science of behavior. At Centria Autism, we recognize the immense responsibility and impact that BCBAs have, and our onboarding process for supervising clinicians is meticulously designed to support your transition into a role where you can truly lead, innovate, and elevate the standard of care for children with autism.
This isn’t just about administrative tasks; it’s about immersing you in Centria’s unique clinical philosophy, equipping you with our advanced tools, and surrounding you with a network of support that empowers you to achieve optimal outcomes.
Our comprehensive clinical orientation is led by an experienced BCBA and is designed to honor the various ways people learn. We employ a blended learning approach, combining live instructor-led presentations, interactive discussions, practical hands-on activities, and flexible asynchronous online learning. The entire program is fully remote, offering convenience and accessibility as you integrate into your new role.
Here’s a detailed look at what else you can expect when you join us as a Supervising Clinician:
Step 1: Foundational Alignment & Verification
Prior to overseeing client programs, we ensure all professional and regulatory requirements are met and align you with our core operational practices. This includes verifying your BCBA certification and any required state licensure, as well as facilitating or confirming completion of the BACB-mandated 8-hour supervision course within your first 30 days. We also complete standard background checks and other essential pre-employment administrative steps for a seamless start.
Step 2: Immersion in Centria’s Clinical Excellence
This is where you’ll dive deep into what makes Centria’s clinical approach unique and highly effective. We emphasize a compassionate, assent-based model that prioritizes the client’s voice and optimal outcomes.
- The “Do Wonders” Framework: You’ll be thoroughly introduced to our proprietary “Do Wonders” Framework. This isn’t just a catchy phrase; it’s our values-driven, outcomes-focused clinical philosophy that guides every assessment, treatment plan, and intervention. It ensures a consistent, high-quality approach across all our services.
- Assent-Based Care & SBT Mastery: Centria is at the forefront of assent-based care, Practical Functional Assessments (PFA), and Skills-Based Treatment (SBT). You’ll receive specialized training and hands-on guidance in implementing these advanced models, learning how to respect client dignity, foster active participation, and teach functional, meaningful skills.
- The Optimal Outcomes Model: Understand our holistic “Optimal Outcomes Model,” which extends beyond just skill acquisition to encompass the “whole child,” engage families in aspirational treatment planning, and leverage our team-based care for comprehensive support.
Step 3: Mastering Our Cutting-Edge Systems & Collaborative Model
We invest in technology and organizational structures that empower our BCBAs to focus on what they do best: clinical supervision and leadership.
- CareConnect Platform: You’ll receive in-depth training on our proprietary CareConnect software platform. This intuitive system streamlines everything from developing individualized treatment plans to collecting real-time data and monitoring therapy progress. It’s designed to minimize administrative burden and maximize clinical efficiency.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Learn how to leverage the robust data insights from CareConnect to continually analyze client progress, make informed clinical decisions, and adapt treatment plans for maximum effectiveness.
- The Dyad Model: Our unique “dyad model” pairs clinical leadership roles with operational counterparts. This means as a BCBA, you are empowered to focus exclusively on clinical supervision, developing therapy plans, and training Behavior Technicians. Operational tasks like scheduling your technicians are handled by operations, allowing you to dedicate your passion and expertise to direct clinical impact.
Step 4: Robust Mentorship & Continuous Professional Development
At Centria, you’re never alone. We believe in fostering a culture of continuous learning, support, and growth for our BCBAs.
- Comprehensive Mentorship Program: You’ll be integrated into a robust mentorship program. This often involves working closely with more experienced BCBAs or members of our Clinical Excellence team, who provide intensive support, guidance, and help you apply evidence-based practices to complex cases.
- Layered Support System: Beyond your direct mentor, you’ll benefit from a tiered support structure including Clinical Directors, Area Clinical Directors, and a dedicated Clinical Excellence Team. This ensures you always have resources and experienced colleagues to consult with.
- Ongoing CEU & Training: We’re committed to your professional growth. Centria offers annual CEU stipends, paid CEU days, and exclusive internal training events. We encourage and support your pursuit of advanced certifications and ongoing learning to keep your skills sharp and current with the latest advancements in the field. Additionally, clinicians can earn up to 18 CEUs just for completing our Clinical Orientation!
- Career Pathways: We are dedicated to your long-term career success. Whether you aspire to clinical leadership, specialized training roles, or research, Centria provides clear pathways and support for your professional evolution.
