The Power of Teamwork: How Centria Reshaped My Career

By: Carrie Warren

Before joining Centria, I worked as a clinic director where I managed both clinical and operational responsibilities. My days were filled with scheduling, overseeing overlaps, supervising a caseload, supporting new BCBAs, ordering supplies, and making sure the space stayed tidy day to day. While I was proud of the work I accomplished, carrying so many responsibilities left me little time to focus on what I was truly passionate about: clinical care and the growth of my team.

The Reality of Burnout in Clinical Leadership Roles

The reality was that I was stretched too thin. Without the right support structure, I found myself overwhelmed and heading toward burnout. Within a few short months, I even began to question whether I wanted to remain in this field.

That experience made my transition to Centria especially meaningful.

The Dyad Leadership Model: A Game-Changer for Clinical Success

As a Director of Clinical Services (DCS), I was immediately introduced to a structure designed to support both clinical and operational excellence. I was partnered with an Operations Director, who took on the operational responsibilities and allowed me to fully focus on clinical leadership. This dyad partnership has been transformative, ensuring that both sides of the business are managed effectively while giving me the ability to concentrate on the work I do best.

The Importance of Mentorship in Professional Growth

In addition, I gained the support of an Area Leader of Clinical Services. Through weekly one-on-one meetings, monthly in-person visits, and frequent check-ins, my area leader provided the mentorship and guidance I needed to grow into the leader I aspired to be. Having that consistent support created a foundation of stability that was missing in my previous role.

Building Community: Collaboration Among Clinical Leaders

Centria also connected me with other new DCSs across the organization, creating opportunities to collaborate, share best practices, and support one another. This sense of community eliminated the isolation I had felt in past roles and reinforced the value of teamwork at every level of the organization.

From Burnout to Fulfillment: Rediscovering My Passion

The difference has been profound. Instead of feeling overextended and on the verge of leaving the field, I now feel energized, supported, and confident in my role. Centria’s commitment to building strong partnerships and providing intentional support has not only allowed me to thrive professionally but has also reminded me why I entered this field in the first place.

Why Teamwork in Healthcare Organizations Matters

Teamwork is more than a value at Centria. It is the structure that makes success possible. By fostering collaboration between clinical and operational leaders, providing consistent mentorship, and building connections among peers, Centria creates an environment where employees can grow, succeed, and sustain their passion for the work we do.

I am grateful to be part of a company that prioritizes collaboration and invests in its people. Centria’s approach to teamwork has reshaped my career, and for that, I am truly thankful.
